UPDATE MAY 12 2020

As of May 7, 2020 Michigan Realtors may once again conduct in-person listing appointments and showings!

Not business as usual, however.? All showings must be done by appointment only. No more than 4 persons may be at the property at one time.? NO IN PERSON open houses! No showings while a tenant is renting. Other mitigation measures to consider are:

Buyer to be pre-approved for financing

Use of technology to the max!? Photographs, virtual showings everything so the buyer can narrow the search and with the least eposure to all.? Masks and gloves encouraged as well. Of course more forms for showings and listings in regards to guidelines for showing your home and for buyer looking at homes.?

Title Co have their own set of guidelines for closings.? Be prepared to take a little longer to close a deal.

There is more to know of course and sellers can have a say as far as opening their homes for showings. Patience is needed in all future real estate dealings.? Realtors will need time to schedule showings and to see what is required by sellers.? Call and go see is not likely to happen.? So serious buyers and sellers are asked to be accommodating, considerate, patient, so we will all be safe!

So what about the market you ask.? So far there are new listings coming on the market and buyers are buying! How will the market be effected remains to be seen.? The aftermath if there is one of Covid 19 will depend on the jobs returning and hopefully no foreclosures.? I predict we'll see a little of everything just time will tell. Children back at school in the fall will be a good indicatior as well as a vacine or something that we'll be ok and we will have survived the worst. ? Blessing to all!
