Our spacious accommodations blend the convenience and comforts of today with the romance and nostalgia of the past.
The Martin House Inn is now open and we are so excited to welcome you back! As we adjust to new guidelines necessitated by Covid and the 2020 season slowly unfolds, our primary focus remains the safety of our guests, staff and community. COVID 19 INFORMATION . . .
Some of the safety measures we are implementing during this first phase of reopening will result in a slightly modified guest experience – touchless check-in and hand sanitization, communication via texts, modification of our traditional breakfast service (no buffet/instead individual baskets filled with yogurt parfaits with homemade granola and fresh fruit, our famous scones and another freshly baked pastry as well as thermoses for coffee/hot water) and a temporary suspension of our wine and cheese gatherings to honor the social distancing mandates. Face masks and proper distancing will be required in public areas, and our staff will be sporting fashionable masks and gloves. Daily room service is temporarily suspended and our housekeepers won't enter your room during your stay, but fresh towels and other amenities will be available upon request. Our room decor will be simplified by the removal of decorative pillows, down comforters, magazines and the Martin House guest books. Our acclaimed pre-Covid housekeeping procedures will be further enhanced to honor State and American Hotel and Lodging Association COVID-specific cleaning protocols for sanitizing and disinfecting, including the use of CDC approved products including an electrostatic sprayer, as we work within the parameters of the “Stay Safe” initiative designed to standardize the hotel industry’s cleaning and safety protocols.
On Nantucket, restaurants and shops have reopened with limits on the number of diners and shoppers allowed on premises at one time, but remain wonderful and unique. Take-out service abounds, so if you aren’t yet comfortable eating at our outstanding restaurants, you can order your meals for take-out and enjoy them in any of our comfortable gathering spaces (our dining room, breezy veranda, serenity gardens, or roof-walk) or at any of the nearby beaches. The beauty and the serenity of the island, our countless trails and beaches, gardens, sweet sunrises and stunning sunsets await you.
The Martin House Inn combines the charm and romance of a bygone era with all the comforts of home. With its many comfortable gathering areas, its fireplaces, the luxury of its rooms, its peaceful veranda, and of course its spacious roof walk offering panoramic views of the town and the harbor, the Martin House is a place that can make you forget that you have ever worked for a living. Once selected by Cape Cod Travel Guide as the Editor’s Choice of inns in Nantucket and considered the most romantic inn on island, we serve a bountiful continental breakfast prepared by our innkeeper, and in the afternoon, we serve homemade treats. In the heart of Nantucket’s historic district, the inn is just a short walk from all the shops, beaches and restaurants in town.
